A leading Waste Management organisation is currently seeking a General Manager for their regional offices based in the East Midlands. The role holder will be responsible for developing the collections and logistics divisions of the business. There will be responsibility to managing a turnover in excess of £8m generated from a fleet of over 25 vehicles. Working as part of the senior management team, the role holder will also be expected to contribute to the strategy & development of the overall business.
The successful candidate will be:
- A strong determined and resourceful leader who can achieve team targets over multiple locations
- An experienced logistics manager ideally in environmental/ waste management or the distribution/ supply chain sector. High compliance standards and full understanding of transport and environmental legislation.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to help gain and account manage major customers, and drive supply chain savings.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen; with good analytical IT skills
